We are having a Summer litter in 2024. PUPPIES ARE HERE!
Happy, healthy pups for home or hunt. We strive to breed Labrador Retrievers that have wonderful dispositions, high intelligence, natural retrieving ability, and good looks. We have selected first for temperament – loyal, loving, and easy going. Then intelligence – bred from hunting stock with proven titled performance. Also for health – all dogs have health clearances and testing, but also we select to breed older dogs that have shown no problems with ear infections, rashes, vaccine reactions, heart and respiratory issues, ACL tears, or arthritis. We choose dogs with excellent confirmation and athletic ability, which translates into a long lasting, great looking dog.
Even before they are born we are working to make great pups by feeding high quality puppy food and supplementing with pure fish oils to provide extra DHA and other fatty acids for optimal brain development during gestation, lactation and weaning. Probiotics are started with every meal as the pups are weaned to help boost immunity as well.
Puppies are given neural stimulation via a short routine during the first weeks of life which is scientifically proven to create dogs that are more intelligent and are better able to deal with stress. This program is used by the US military for all their bred service dogs.
We raise pups in our home and socialize them as much as possible. They are exposed to other dogs, cats, horses, children, bikes, birds, four wheelers, toys, and water (weather permitting). We play CDs of sounds to get them used to fireworks, gunfire, kitchen sounds, vacuum cleaners etc. We spend hours a day with them, holding, handling, restraining, brushing, and trimming nails and everything we can think to do to help them prepare for life in their new homes. House training is started as the pups reach 5 weeks of age, but most pups don’t grasp the concept until they are closer to 9 weeks old. Pups are sent home around 7 to 8 weeks old and are given their first vaccinations, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention, appropriate deworming, microchip, and are given a health certificate. All of the listed procedures are performed by a Georgia state licensed veterinarian. Dewclaws are NOT removed, as we feel they are needed for working on ice or rough terrain. We do NOT ship puppies via plane, but can recommend a transporter if you are unable to pick up you pup. We do interview all prospective buyers closely, and have the right to refuse any potential buyer we feel is not a good match for our pups.
We are located about 1 hour north of Atlanta GA.
